| Haven't updated this thing in awhile :). Life update: 1. This has been an exciting year thus far, and I get the feeling that more is coming. Lot's of anticipation for what God has planned for me eventhough I don't know what the plan is, I'm really excited. 2. Possibly buying a house this year. :) condo to be more precise. the prices are crazy low. 3. Quit smoking, I've done it several times now, hopefully I'll be more sucessful. I'll just keep trying :). 4. Turned 5 this year. I have special way of calculating birthdays. Can't say it felt any different from turning 23. 5. Managed to lose a little more than 30 pounds. .. Still got another 30 to go. 6. Still teaching high school physics, and will be getting AP certified this year as well. 7. Living on my own has been a great experience. I like setting things up my own way and not having someone turn it into chaos within a week. :) 8. Still single, but I am looking now. Girls still scare, me, but I'm going to be brave. 9. Church is really good. Helped to start a young adult ministry that is steadily growing. 10. Have gotten closer to God than I ever have before. :) That's all for now. Peace G | | |
| Hi, Most of you who know me, will realize how difficult this is for me to ask for financial assistance. But I have to ask because of the short time involved, and it is not for my benefit. I am trying to raise funds to pay for a mission trip to Honduras. I will be helping with the construction of a new church, and leading the praise and worship for our team. I will also be lending a hand with teaching children English, and of course about the love of Christ. Mostly, I want to try and give the people who need hope, something to hope for. Honestly if you had talked to me three weeks ago, I would have told you, "I don't want to go; I've never had the heart for missions". To make a long story short: A sweet old lady prayed that I would have the heart, and everyday for three weeks, I was constantly debating whether or not I should go. I finally surrendered and realized that it was God calling me to go this time. Our entire nation is in financial difficulty, so if you cannot help, I understand. I've personally had to re-budget things due to the rising cost of gas. If you can afford to give a little for a good cause, just message me, and we can work the details. Peace G p.s. as if it wasn’t bad enough I sing all the time in English and Korean, now I’m singing in Spanish too! :) | | |
| I have lost my phone, but I have replaced it. Unfortunately, the phone numbers are gone, so please call me and leave me a message, and I shall store your number into my heart :) | | |
| If you're immature; we go through hard times cursing His name, and no one's happy. If you're somewhat mature; you curse and then in retrospect you realize that it just made you stronger, and it could have been worse, and you're feeling ok. If you're mature; then during those hard times you focus more on God because when you're looking towards Him, then things are always looking up, and nothing can keep you down. Nugget of Wisdom: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. Taste of Truth: “[For the director of music. Of David.] The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.”- Psalm 14:1 | | |
| A University professor at a well-known institution of higher learning challenged his students with this question.
"Did God create everything that exists?"
A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!" "God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes sir, He certainly did," the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything; then God created evil. And, since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then we can assume God is evil."
The student became quiet and did not answer the professor's hypothetical definition. The professor, quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "May I ask you a question, professor?"
"Of course", replied the professor. The student stood up and asked, "Professor does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The other students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy.
Absolute zero (-460F) is the total absence of heat; and all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."
The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course, as I have already said.
We see it everyday. It is in the daily examples of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a world that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
The professor sat down.

Nugget of Wisdom: Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man. ~Benjamin Franklin Taste of Truth: “[Ask, Seek, Knock] "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”- Matthew 7:7-8 | | |
